In 2019 thanks to the love and generosity of the Australian community a significant sum of money was raised to pay for visa applications for the family of Iyad, a Syrian refugee in Canberra, to join him in Australia (you can read the whole story below).
After a long and torturous wait the family has finally received the news that they have been granted permanent residency to live in Australia with their dad!
The hard part has been done, but there isstill have one final obstacle: getting Ghada and the kids from Syria to Australian as soon as possible. A difficult and expensive task at the best, this has been made more complicated by the coronavirus pandemic.
They are so close to getting here, but they need to raise the money for travel which is where you come in.
$35000 has been quoted for flights and quarantine in Australia. This will get the family across the border from Syria to Beirut and on a plane to Sydney.
