The big event in June was the Awards Ceremony for the 2018 Geoff McPherson CRS Scholarships. Forty-five scholarships were awarded this year to Canberra region students with a refugee background to mark United Nations World Refugee Week 2018. The purpose of the scholarships is to recognise meritorious performance and to encourage and support outstanding refugee students. Each scholarship is accompanied by a cash grant and an award certificate to mark the occasion.
